HERAZUR LLC / STORYBEE
StoryBee privacy policy
Effective October 20, 2026
This policy explains how Herazur LLC (“we”, “us”) handles information in StoryBee (StoryBee: AI Bedtime Stories), an app that parents use to create personalized bedtime stories with their child as the main character. StoryBee is published on Google Play (package com.storybuddy.ai.storybuddy_ai).
Summary
- StoryBee is meant to be used by parents, not by children.
- To write a story, the details you enter about your child, such as their first name and age, are sent through our server to Google’s Gemini API. We do not store them on our servers.
- Your child profiles and saved stories are stored only on your device. You can use the app without an account.
- Free users see ads from Google AdMob; the app requests non-personalized ads. We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Details about your child
To personalize stories you can save one or more child profiles with a first name, age, story language, favourite themes, usual bedtime, favourite character, a preferred moral, and whether to avoid scary content. For each story you also choose a theme and length and can add your child’s interests, a custom character, and story elements. Child profiles are stored only on your device. Please do not enter more than a first name or nickname.
Story requests
When you create a story, the app sends a request containing the child’s name and age, the theme, moral, length, language, the scary-content setting, and any favourite character, interests, custom character, and story elements you entered to our server. Our server passes it to Google’s Gemini API, which writes the story, and returns the story to the app. Our server does not save the request or the story; its logs record only technical details such as the theme, length, language, and timing.
Read-aloud (Premium)
If you use read-aloud, the text of the current chapter is sent through our server to Google’s Gemini API to create the audio. The audio is saved temporarily on your device for playback and then deleted.
Saved stories
Stories you create, favourites, and “continue tomorrow” marks are stored only on your device. PDF exports are created on your device and shared only where you choose to send them.
Account (optional)
You can use StoryBee as a guest. If you create an account, Firebase Authentication stores your email address and a protected form of your password and sends a verification email; we never see your password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile photo link. An account links your Premium purchase to you; your stories still stay on your device.
Purchases
If you buy Premium, Google Play processes the payment and we never see your card details. RevenueCat tells us whether your subscription is active, linked to your account’s user ID or, as a guest, an identifier created by the app on your device.
Advertising
Free users see a banner ad on the home screen and a full-screen ad after a story is created, and can choose to watch a rewarded ad for an extra story. The app asks Google AdMob for non-personalized ads only. AdMob still receives your device’s advertising ID, IP address, device information, and ad interactions to deliver ads, limit how often you see them, measure them, and prevent fraud. Premium removes ads.
Usage analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to record app events such as starting and finishing a story, the theme, language, and length chosen, reaching the daily limit, viewing the paywall, purchases, and PDF exports. Events are linked to your account’s user ID or to a guest identifier created by the app. They do not include your child’s name, other details you enter about your child, or story text.
Permissions
StoryBee does not request device permissions such as camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos. It uses the internet connection to create stories and audio, check purchases, and show ads. The advertising ID is used by Google AdMob as described above.
How we use information
We use information to write the stories and read-aloud audio you request; apply the free daily story limit; provide and restore Premium; show ads to free users; understand how the app is used and improve it; respond to support requests; and meet legal obligations.
Service providers
We share information only with providers that process it on our behalf to run the app:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Functions, Cloud Firestore, Analytics): accounts, our story server, app configuration, and usage analytics.
- Google Gemini API: story requests, including your child’s name and age and the other details listed above, and chapter text for read-aloud.
- Google AdMob: ads for free users.
- RevenueCat: subscription status and purchase history.
- Google: Google Sign-In, app distribution, and in-app purchases through Google Play.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or others. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where data is processed
Our story server runs in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses.
Retention
- Story requests and stories are not stored on our servers. Google may keep Gemini API requests for a limited period under its own terms.
- Child profiles and saved stories stay on your device until you delete them or remove the app’s data.
- Your sign-in account is kept until you ask us to delete it.
- Analytics data is kept for Firebase’s standard retention period. Purchase records held by Google Play or RevenueCat may be retained as the law requires.
Deleting your account and data
The current version of the app does not have a button to delete your account. To delete it, email support@herazur.us from your account’s email address with the subject “StoryBee account deletion”. We will delete your sign-in account and your purchase record at RevenueCat, and confirm when it is done.
Your stories and child profiles are stored on your device, not in your account. To delete a story, open My Stories and tap the delete icon. To remove all stories and child profiles, open your device’s Settings → Apps → StoryBee → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription: cancel it in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can view and edit most of your information in the app. For other requests, contact us at the address below. We aim to respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and the AI provider key is kept on our server and is never included in the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
StoryBee is designed for parents and other adults who create stories for children. It is not intended to be used by children, and children should not create accounts or make purchases. The information about a child that the app processes is what a parent chooses to enter: a first name or nickname, age, and story preferences. It is used only to write the story the parent asks for, is sent to Google’s Gemini API for that purpose, and is not stored on our servers or used for advertising. If you believe a child has created an account or given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
AI-generated stories
Stories and audio are generated by AI. We instruct the model to write calm, age-appropriate stories, but AI output can still contain mistakes or content you find unsuitable. Please read a story before sharing it with your child.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and its effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
